It was revealed that 5-member idol group from Johnny’s, Sexy Zone, has topped Oricon’s weekly chart for the week of October 15th with their third single “Sexy Summer ni Yuki ga Furu” (released on October 3rd) having sold 95,000 copies. This marked them as the first teenage male artist in 4 years and 2 months to top the chart for three consecutive singles since their debut, with the previous record having been achieved by Hey!Say! JUMP in 2008.
“Sexy Summer ni Yuki ga Furu” includes the title track and a coupling track “Kimi no Tame Boku ga Iru“, as well as “Ame datte” sang by new unit “Sexy Boyz“, which consists with two of Sexy Zone members Matsushima Sou and Marius Yo, and 6 Johnny’s Jr. members.
Meanwhile for the latest album chart, KinKi Kids‘ Domoto Koichi’s original solo album “Gravity“ grabbed the No.1 spot selling 101,000 copies.
